The ultimate value of Home School Data Bank is in the reports you get at the end of each semester.
But there is a bit more to it. The right data has to be entered. Home School Data Bank makes that easy.
Each activity in the checklist has a button you click/tap to open a special screen where you perform the corresponding activity. Once the activity is completed the checklist automatically updates to show what task is next.
Each screen also has an Instructions section that provide a clear explanation of the task at hand. What each screen does is usually obvious. But the instructions are there to help provide perspective on parts that may not be so obvious.
Here are a few of the reports made available once the relevant student progress data have been entered.
These reports can be printed or downloaded and archived as you see fit.
Course of Study
This report shows a list of courses for which a student was enrolled during a semester. The curriculum and any other course materials you entered for each course appear in this report.
This report is available as soon as you enter the course of study for a student.
Monthly Evaluations
This report shows the academic progress entered for a student for each course in the course of study. It also shows any field trips, extra-curricular activities, or other accomplishments you may have entered for each month. The report shows all of this for each month in the selected semester.
Student Work Samples With Cover Page
At the end of each semester you are prompted to upload one or more student work samples. These are documents that demonstrate the student’s competency in a subject. For each work sample uploaded, you are prompted to enter a subject and brief description of the work sample.
Home School Data Bank stores each student work sample as a PDF file. When you later download the student work sample, Home School Data Bank and automatically generates a cover page that includes the subject and description you may have entered when you uploaded the work sample.
Report Card – High School
The report card for high school students shows, for each semester, the list of courses, credits each course is worth, final grade, grade points earned for each course, and overall grade point average (“GPA”).
Report Card – Elementary/Junior High
The report card for elementary students and junior high students shows a list of courses and final grade earned or performance descriptor (pass, fail, needs improvement, outstanding, or satisfactory).
